Donald Trump honorary sign removed from outside Chicago tower

The pole outside Trump Tower that once held the honorary Trump Plaza sign is now bare.

The sign, which was put up in 2006, disappeared shortly after the mayor and aldermen voted last week to take it down.

The sign was in Ald. Brendan Reilly's 42nd Ward in the city’s River North neighborhood. He said that Trump needed to be punished for comparing Chicago to a decimated, war-torn country.

“Honorary street signs are meant to honor special Chicagoans who’ve made a positive contribution to our city,” Reilly said in a statement.

Trump has not commented on the sign's removal.
