Ukraine completes works on biometric control system on EU border

Ukraine's State Border Guard finished working on biometric control of the EU border and in the Ukrainian airports.

According to Petro Tsygykal, the head of the Service, respective equipment is installed in 157 ground-based checkpoints and those at the airport in Kyiv and other major civilian airfields in Ukraine.  

Tsygykal added that almost 420,000 Ukrainians enjoyed the benefits since the EU-Ukraine visa regime was liberalized in June 2017. This is three percent from the overall number of Ukrainians who left the territory of Ukraine over this period.
