Ukraine will not make concessions to Samoylova, — Klimkin

Several countries were considering to boycott Eurovision song contest if Samoylova is not allowed to participate.

Ukraine is not going to make concessions to Russian participant Yuliya Samoylova, who was banned entry to the country by Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) for three years. This was reported by Pavlo Klimkin, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, according to Ria News Ukraine.

"No concessions, formal or informal, will be discussed. We are talking about complying with the law. If the law is violated, we cannot discuss any other steps," Klimkin said, answering the journalists’ question whether Samoylova should be allowed to participate due to the intention of other countries to boycott the event.

As it was reported earlier today, Director General of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Ingrid Deltenre notified Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman about the intention of many members of Eurovision-2017 song contest to withdraw from the event due to the current situation with Russia’s participant Yuliya Samoylova.
