Ukrainian court recognized the fact of the death of Ukrainian military as a result of armed aggression of Russia

On 29th of March 2016 Yarmolinetsky rayon court of Chmelnitska oblast considered the application of the widow of major Yaroslav Kostyshyn, passed away in October 2014 in Avdeevka (Donetsk oblast). The first time in the history of Ukrainian justice the juridical fact of the death of the soldier due to the Russian armed aggression.

The text of adjudication was published with permission of the applicant Svetlana Kostyshyn. The full text of the adjudication the parties will receive on 4th of April 2016.

The interests of the family in the court were represented by the members of the team of All-Ukrainian civil movement “Power of Justice”: the head of the organization Angrey Senchenko and members of its coordination council Vadim Severinenko and Igor Kabanenko.

The testimony were given by the commander of the military unit colonel Bogdan Bondar and colleagues of major Kostyshyn.

Since two years of the hybrid war of Russian Federation against Ukraine All-Ukrainian civil movement “Power of Justice” for the first time created a precedent of overt condemnation of aggressor in the form of adjudication. Adjudication will be followed with appeal to executive office arrest of the property of Russian Federation in the territory of Ukraine. Thereby everyone who suffered form the actions of Russian Federation: forced internally displaced people from Crimea and Donbas, injured and relatives of victims can apply to human rights organization “Power of Justice” for demands of contributions from aggressor. Activists tell that the organization provides free consultation and preparation court appeals.
