New York After Blizzard
Big roads are asphalt clean; the snow plowers have been working 24/7. But small streets are not easy to drive through. It is quite slushy now.
It does’t look easy to get on a bus ; the bus stations are covered in snow; alternative is to wait on the road. It is also a challenge for the Fire department to get to some fire hydrants.
Ban on non-emergency vehicles has been lifted since 7:00 AM 1/24 but we can’t see many cars because some cars are in a deep trouble.
Some small business are still closed, some are opening later than usual.
According to NYC MTA, MTA Bus and Access-A-Ride service has been restored. All elevated MTA subway lines have resumed service at 9:00 AM. But the outdoor sections of the following MTA subway lines will remain suspended until further notice due to on-going snow clearing operations: A, Q, N, L, S (Franklin Ave Shuttle) and Staten Island Railway. Customers should expect delays and service changes throughout the day.
When the City employees are busy and working overtime, New Yorkers are having great fun playing in the snow. Shovels and sleds are the hottest items on the market today.
