Yesterday, April 3, Nestle CEO for Ukraine and Moldova Ansgar Bornemann announced the company is planning to invest 700 million UAH ($26.2 million) into the Mivina factory in Kharkiv.

The news was reported at the press briefing in the Kharkiv Regional State Administration during Bonemann’s visit to Kharkiv.

The finance will be allocated to reconstruct and upgrade the Mivina factory, which has belonged to Nestle, one of the world’s largest producers of food, since 2010. The project’s final plan of reconstruction was approved in early 2018.

“Our major task is to develop the factory, improve working conditions and increase our product competitiveness,” the Nestle official said.

According to Bornemann, the project will be implemented in two stages within 2-3 years. Firstly, the existing logistics center will be transformed into a manufacturing facility with new infrastructure and production lines.

Moreover, the managers are going to improve the food processing technology. The ingredients of the Mivina products will be brought into conformity with the dietary recommendations of the World Health Organization. For example, the fat content will be reduced.

Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Yulia Svitlychna reported that Kharkiv Mivina factory exports almost half of its products to 17 countries in Europe and worldwide.

Nestle is planning to have completed the factory’s reconstruction and technology improvement by 2021.
