Shchedryk-carol of the bells: Unwrap the holiday magic
Consulate General of Ukraine in Chicago and Art On TheMART announce a special holiday projection spotlighting the history of the Carol of The Bells, originally a Ukrainian folk Christmas carol called "Shchedryk".
This new piece, developed by Ukrainian team, PHOTINUS STUDIO, in cooperation with the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, celebrates the Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych who arranged the melody of the holiday classic, “Carol of The Bells”, back in 1916.
The animated holiday-themed projection relays the original Ukrainian lyrics, which tell a story of a swallow returning home for spring.
This special presentation joins Art on theMART’s Fall Program to raise urgently needed funds for relief efforts in Ukraine through President Zelensky’s UNITED24 platform (u24.gov.ua).
